Village Green's Summer Family
About us
The Village Green Patriots are a developmental swim team that belongs to the Greater Peninsula Swim Association (GPSA). The ages of our swimmers range from 4 years old through 18 years of age, and are of all swim abilities. Not all new swimmers are 4 or 5 years old. We have had swimmer who were 11 or 12 just learning to swim and by the end of the season, they were earning points in meets. If you ask most neighbors where their children learned to swim, it was on the VG swim team.
Our season lasts from the Tuesday after Memorial Day through our the championship meet that usually takes place the first weekend of August. Practices are Mondays through Friday, in the evenings until school lets out. After the last day of school, the practices move to mornings. Meets are typically on Mondays, although our schedule for 2026 has one friendship meet and one regular meet on Thursdays as shown on our calendar. We host 2 meets in 2026. Parents are requested to work at meets as this is a volunteer-driven sport, but don't worry, anyone can learn to use a stop watch and it's the best seat in the house when your kid swims!
Summer swim in Village Green is truly the best way to get plugged into the neighborhood during the summer. The children grow friendships that last through the years and the parents gain a great sense of community. On meet nights you will hear every parent cheering for each other's kid, no matter if the child is winning their heat, or if it's a 6 year old just making it to the end of the pool. We grow as a team and as a community. Consider joining the swim family and join in the fun!
